DocWorks™ Conversion Associates of America or the DCAA is a national consortium of service bureaus that specialize in the conversion and indexing of paper and electronic documents into industry standard electronic formats. The DCAA is comprised of a national network of individually owned and managed organizations that share resources to more effectively serve a national market space. This group has adopted standards for process, pricing and service so that one company can promote the services of another geographically without service or efficiency concerns when referring a client to another DCAA member. Utilizing the DCAA service bureau network also insures a consistent level of quality work resulting in a highly effective content management solution.

A primary benefit of a content management system is its ability to provide instantaneous access to information. Image and COLD documents are retrieved by querying a data management system to identify and locate documents or information stored in the DocWorks™ system. Documents are uniquely identified by fields or index elements that describe the documents or transactions and allow us to find them rapidly.

The document description fields are called indexes and are populated by a number of methods. OCR, Bar Code, Match-N-Merge applications, as well as "key from image" data entry is used to update DocWorks™ with the document information.

The process of data entry normally requires that a computer operator view an image on screen and then type the unique index information. DCAA members routinely work with DocWorks™ clients to determine the data entry requirements for a specific project. Outsourcing data entry services is a very viable option for many clients and usually is preferred as the most cost effective solution. Service Bureaus within the DCAA network can provide remote indexing services for clients who would prefer to concentrate on core competencies rather than using in-house staff to provide this function.
It is commonly found that outsourcing data entry to an organization that specializes in providing this service is more economical since they usually key data faster, more efficiently and more accurately. Outsourcing is especially attractive when using DocWorks™ . There is no upfront cost to the software and the funds that would have been spent on an in house imaging system can be reallocated for this purpose.
