Conversion Services
DocWorks
Conversion Associates of America or the DCAA is a national consortium
of service bureaus that specialize in the conversion and indexing
of paper and electronic documents into industry standard electronic
formats. The DCAA is comprised of a national network of individually
owned and managed organizations that share resources to more effectively
serve a national market space. This group has adopted standards
for process, pricing and service so that one company can promote
the services of another geographically without service or efficiency
concerns when referring a client to another DCAA member. Utilizing
the DCAA service bureau network also insures a consistent level
of quality work resulting in a highly effective content management
solution.
The DCAA and
its members have been designing customized content management systems
for many years. An integral part of our DocWorks retrieval
solution is assisting clients with converting paper documents to
electronic images so that the competency does not have to be incorporated
in-house. There are two primary options for paper conversion; set
up an in-house document scanning application, or utilize the expertise
of a service bureau and outsource the conversion work which is usually
the more cost efficient choice.
When outsourcing
document conversion, a DCAA member acts as a Consultant and an Agent
in the client's behalf to insure that the imaging projects are completed
properly. DCAA members work with DocWorks clients to determine
document types, indexing, document preparation processes, and other
elements required to image and index data transfer into the DocWorks
repository. They formalize the project specifications and direct
the service bureau on the requirements of the conversion project.
When decisions
are made to capture documents within the client's organization,
DCAA affiliates will assist in setting up in-house document scanning/indexing
capabilities. DCAA members work with DocWorks clients to determine
daily page quantities, document attributes, automated data extraction,
and processes to deliver a seamless application from scanning to
the retrieval of information and documents. Your local DCAA member
will help install any required hardware and software and also work
with your group to set up the physical transfer of the data into
the DocWorks system.
